Neousys Technology, an industry-leading provider of rugged embedded systems, today announced the launch of Nuvo-2822, a compact expansion box PC powered by the Intel® Alder Lake N processor. Featuring four PCIe/PCI slots, Nuvo-2822 strikes a balance between compactness and flexibility, making it an ideal platform for integrating various industrial expansion cards, including frame grabber cards with AI computing capabilities. This versatility allows for seamless upgrades to an AI-enabled computing platform, driving advancements in intelligent manufacturing.
Nuvo-2822 is engineered with an Intel N97 processor, featuring a 4-core/4-thread architecture and a 12W TDP. This configuration ensures reliable computing performance and long-term stability, even in demanding automation control systems. Its compact design makes it particularly suited for installation in confined spaces within automation equipment.
Designed for ease of integration, the Nuvo-2822 offers front-accessible I/O ports, simplifying the connection of peripheral devices. It supports a variety of industrial I/Os, including two Ethernet ports with I210-IT controllers and two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports equipped with screw-lock mechanisms for secure connections to industrial cameras. Additionally, the system includes an 8-channel isolated DIO and four COM ports, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of industrial sensors, indicators, motors, and actuators.
Nuvo-2822 features two PCIe slots and two PCI slots, offering ample expansion options for various PCIe cards. This flexibility enables the integration of video capture cards and motion control cards, meeting the diverse needs of factory automation applications. Furthermore, the Nuvo-2822 is compatible with Neousys’ 100 TOPS Intelligent Frame Grabber Card, powered by NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX, enabling existing x86 systems to be easily upgraded to AI inference-capable edge AI computing platforms.
In response to the global demand for energy efficiency and the optimization of performance in smart warehouses, smart factories, and smart cities, the Nuvo-2822 features a Super Power Saving Mode. This mode minimizes power consumption during idle and shutdown states, significantly reducing energy usage and contributing to electricity savings. The robust design of the Nuvo-2822 ensures operation in a wide temperature range from -10°C to 70°C and meets MIL-STD-810H standards for vibration and shock resistance, making it suitable for installation in small cabinets or harsh environments.
