Neousys Technology, an industry-leading provider of rugged embedded systems, today announced its latest 4-port 2.5GBASE-T network adapter, the PCIe-PoE425bt. Featuring IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ PSE capability with RJ45 connectors, it is in compliance with IEEE 802.3bt standard to provide 2.5 Gbps bandwidth and is backward-compatible with 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-TE Ethernet.
The latest Power over Ethernet specification, IEEE 802.3bt PSE capability, allows a single port of PCIe-PoE425bt to provide up to 90W of power to a PD over a standard CAT-5e or CAT-6 Ethernet cable. PCIe-PoE425bt can directly connect to power devices without an external PoE++ injector, hence making it suitable for devices requiring more than 30W, such as COTS high PTZ cameras and outdoor WiFi access points.
PCIe-PoE425bt has four IEEE 802.3bz 2.5GBASE-T Ethernet ports by Intel® I226-IT controllers. Compared to Gigabit Ethernet, it offers up to 2.5x the bandwidth. Built on a PCIe x4, Gen 2 PCIe Express interface, the card is also compatible for installation into x4/ x8/ x16 PCIe slots, and supports per-port PoE+ power on/off control via software API.
“The market demand for 2.5GbE connectivity has grown significantly with more 2.5G industrial cameras and PoE devices becoming available in recent years. Neousys 2.5GBASE-T PCIe network adapter is a cost-efficient solution to upgrade and accelerate the existing network as there is no need to rewire the CAT5e (or better) cables used in your current Ethernet connection. And by incorporating 2.5GBASE-T and PoE++ technologies, PCIe-PoE425bt is the ideal choice for machine vision and surveillance applications with advanced PoE devices, such as PTZ cameras, high-performance WiFi access points and industrial NBASE-T cameras,” said Neil Liu, Product Manager of Neousys Technology.
