GMSL2 Camera Integration for Edge AI
PCIe-NPL54 enables native integration of GMSL2 cameras with x86 systems—bridging the gap for platforms that lack native MIPI support. It supports up to four 5MP GMSL2 cameras at 30 FPS and is driver-ready for selected automotive cameras featuring HDR (120–140 dB) and LED Flicker Mitigation (LFM). These cameras, widely used in automotive environments, also offer compact form factors and robust FAKRA connectors with coaxial cabling for simplified deployment.

Fanless, Power-Efficient, and Rugged Design
Featuring a fanless design and power consumption of less than 20W under full camera load, PCIe-NPL54 is well-suited for power-constrained environments. It operates within a wide temperature range of -40°C to 70°C, making it ideal for outdoor and vehicle-based edge applications. Its single-slot PCIe Gen2 x4 form factor ensures easy integration into compact systems, while the integrated power design draws power directly from the PCIe bus—no external power connector is required.

Precise Sensor Synchronization and Reliable Operation
PCIe-NPL54 features a GPS PPS input/output to enable frame-level synchronization across multiple units and other sensors like LiDAR, ensuring precise alignment for sensor fusion. Additionally, it includes an automatic retry mechanism to recover the GMSL2 link after disconnections caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD), enhancing system reliability in harsh conditions.With its combination of native GMSL2 support, low power design, and rugged performance, PCIe-NPL54 offers a dependable solution for modern edge AI applications—ranging from autonomous systems and mobile robots to smart infrastructure and industrial inspection.
