Robotics Automation and IoT Predictive Maintenance

Neousys’ robotics and machine vision systems can be used in smart factories to detect and predict maintenance issues in machine tools. An IoT gateway is required for data collection and security when assessing the real-time operational status of the factory and machine tools. The Neousys IGT-30 series is an ideal fit due to its industry specific data I/Os and multi-protocol communication capabilities.

Solar Panel Monitoring

Neousys’ POC series systems are ideal for solar panel monitoring thanks to the compact dimensions, wide temperature operation and expandability. The computers can operate in harsh environmental settings, and they can add 4G/5G modems for wireless data communication.

Package Inspection and Distribution

Neousys’ machine vision systems can be used for conveyer belt and sorting processes. A customer used a Nuvo rugged embedded series computer as a controller system. The machine could scan an item’s barcode while also measuring the parcel size, which enabled it to then sort packages into designated size areas. Using a system in this way can increase efficiency, reduce the workforce required onsite, and save costs for the company.

Product Quality Inspection

Neousys’ FIA INTUIT self-learning and machine vision systems can be used with image filtering technology to analyze product quality in factories and production centers. The scientific machine learning system assesses product quality at a precise, reliable and rapid inspection yield rate. This enables factories to reduce costs, save time and meet their production goals more efficiently.

Hand-Eye Coordinated Robot Arm

Neousys’ Nuvo-7000 has enabled a robotics arm to recognize unique features such as various geometric shapes, different sizes and reflective surfaces. This has allowed the robotics arm to precisely and safely retrieve the unique item and place it on a surface to be sprayed, welded, and/or treated. The robotics arm has gone a long way in reducing human inaccuracies and increasing factory efficiency; the addition of hand-eye coordination will reduce treatment processing errors and offers 24/7 operation, allowing factories to reach production goals faster.

Powder Metallurgy Inspection

The Neousys Nuvo-8023 expansion box PC has been used, along with frame grabber cards, as a machine inspection solution in the powder metallurgy production process. Replacing human inspection with a machine vision solution has increased productivity as well as accuracy rates. Since machine inspection yields a higher inspection rate than human inspection, the factory/warehouse can meet demands quickly and efficiently.

Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV)

Neousys systems can be used to program Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in industrial environments. The computer is programed to enable the AGV to inspect, move and lift heavy materials in and around manufacturing facilities. Many Neousys systems fulfill the requirements for this application, as they feature wide temperature operation, shock/vibration resistant designs, wireless WiFi and more.

Bottled Beverage Quality Checks

A Neousys customer used an ultra-compact POC controller to automate quality checks in the beverage bottling process. The system can connect to multiple cameras, endure constant vibration on the production line and operate in a wide range of temperatures. A POC-series controller can scan up to 400 bottles per minute and successfully detect faulty bottles for removal before the packaging process.

Recyclable Sorting Solution

Neousys Technology’s Nuvo-8108GC series computers have been used for developing a recycle sorting solution. The computer was used with graphics cards and inference accelerators to differentiate and sort through recyclable wastes using AI machine vision capabilities. Rather than human operators sorting out recyclables at a time-consuming pace, a machine vision inspection system can operate around the clock and therefore increase the processing rate.

Vehicle Inspection

Neousys’ Edge AI GPU programs can automate vehicle inspection for both maintenance and security. Manual inspection of vehicle undercarriages is limited to specific areas at a time so defects and anomalies can be missed. AI technology scans can cover the whole area and therefore ensure a more accurate inspection.

Medical Grade Mask Manufacturing Inspection

Neousys’ edge AI GPU platforms were used during the COVID-19 pandemic to inspect medical grade masks. Since demand for medical-grade disposable masks was high, the edge AI GPU systems were essential to speeding up the inspection process to production needs.
