Medical Imaging

Neousys Technology’s Nuvo-8108GC has been used to power mobile compact X-ray machines.  The Nuvo-8108GC is an ideal fit for this application due to its small size and powerful processing power. It also features Neousys’ patented heat dissipation design, as well as shock/vibration resistant design, to support the x-ray machine’s mobility needs. A mobile x-ray machine relieves the administrative burden of multiple patients waiting for a small number of immobile machines to become available.

360° 3D Medical Imaging

The Nuvo-9166GC was chosen as an embedded system for a sync AR module to overlay surgical microscope eye pieces with VR objects in real time. The goal was to create a vision solution platform which reconstructs traditional 2D medical images into a 360° 3D virtual reality (VR) model. This would allow the patient to see precise recognizable details about their illness, in addition to guiding them through surgical procedures in an experiential preview. In contrast to using black and white MRI/CT images which may not be recognizable to the patient, a 360° 3D VR model lets the patient know the details and steps needed to make an informed decision about their health.

This VR system can also provide a surgical simulator for training residents in an immersive interactive environment.

Neousys’ Nuvo-9166GC is an ideal fit for this application due to its compact size so it can be placed inside the equipment. The processing power and unique Neousys thermal design also enable it to operate high-tech imaging equipment, while its anti-vibration design enables it to move about the hospital floor

Medical Grade Mask Inspection

Neousys’ edge AI GPU platforms were used during the COVID-19 pandemic to inspect medical grade masks. Since demand for medical-grade disposable masks was high, the edge AI GPU systems were essential to speeding up the inspection process to production needs.
